The Heritage that almost wasn’t…
Wow! How quickly the world has changed!
The coronavirus pandemic has certainly rocked us all and disrupted normal life severely. It has taken us a bit of time to re-group as plans and events are being postponed and canceled left and right.
After our clay shoot, the Rays quickly got to work prepping for our next big event, The RBC Heritage golf tournament. You may remember that last year, the Rays made an entry to the first ever Heritage Cookie Contest and WON! Our ‘Sunshine Peanut Butter Putters’ were named the official cookie of the RBC Heritage and opened the door to many wonderful opportunities last year, including baking with pro golfer Jim Furyk on CBS and Pockets being named a PGA Tour Charity of the Year Finalist.
We were excited to be a part of the tournament again this year and had already been busy baking cookies for tournament volunteers and speaking at Media and Sponsor Day.
We had even been contacted by the SC Governors office and asked to bake 600 cookies for a dinner he would be hosting during tournament week!
Sadly, this years tournament has been postponed and will happen without spectators, and all the accompanying events have been canceled. This is of course disappointing for our Rays and our community at large.
But even covid can’t keep us down. We hope to be a part of the tournament in whatever way we are able when it takes place! We are also continuing to plan and find creative ways to engage our adults at home and keep them plugged in and connected to their community during these unprecedented times. Stay tuned for more sunshine!
