I Scream, You Scream, Let’s Kick 2022 Off With Some Ice Cream!
For the last several years we have kicked off the New Year in a very sweet way, with a community ice cream social at a favorite local creamery, The Ice Cream Cone.
The owner, Pete Savarese, is an island native and came up with the fantastic idea of supporting Pockets while helping him close his shop down for the season.
On his final opening day, the ice cream is FREE with donations welcomed to support Pockets, and even better, he lets the Rays come in to hang out for the day and help scoop!
They love working in the shop and serving delicious treats to their friends and the community! We love this great win-win opportunity!
This year Pete’s wonderful young staff took it a step further and donated a portion of their tips from the year to PFS! Truly the cherry on top!
And in true Pockets fashion, it didn’t stop there! Many of the tips were coins which provided a wonderful learning opportunity for our Rays to count and roll the money!
