Busting Clays for the Rays!

And just like that it’s time for our annual Sporting Clays Shoot Fundraiser!

This seems to be the time of year that things start to really speed up and the events start rolling in. Since PFS is completely self-funded (we do not receive medicaid or government dollars but instead rely on grant making, donations and fundraising) our yearly Clay Shoot is absolutely vital. It brings in much of the funding that allows our programming to run all year long.

Not only is the shoot an important fundraiser for Pockets, but it is also a LOT of fun for the participants and volunteers! It is such a unique event with camaraderie like no other, one absolutely not to be missed if you are a seasoned shooter!

Every year our committee works hard to make the event even more meaningful and successful, a big part of which is keeping the Rays involved and an active presence there. They work hard for months, prepping for the shoot during our weekly programming.

And day of, they love to mingle, having coffee and pastries with the shooters, and they really love to help! Serving lunch and drinks before the shoot kicks off is always their time to shine.
